I'm just using some basic gadgets that were included with Windows 7, like the analog clock and the calendar.

sorry microsoft win 8 is junk. I wrongly assumed the gadgets were all 32-bit. Also note I have the default gadgets and did not install anything that could interfere with them.

OK, Once again thanks to the Guys for pointing in right direction. Dll ....) Success, success!!! I just fixed my; Here what I had done from 1)press windows key and R the same time; 2) type msconfig 3) click on Startup and click on Enable all. Right-click the desktop --> Point to View --> Click Show desktop gadgets.
When I go to C:\Program Files\Windows Sidebar\Gadgets I can see that many of the gadget files are still there (for example, the CPU usage gadget, and the Analog Clock gadget, both You can modify the setting again at any time though.So, the core fix is to change the DPI setting to the default value. I accepted one tonight and, all of a sudden, my gadgets broke. Just go to START & RUN type MSCONFIG and look in START programs then Untick anything to do with ADOBE and hey PRESTO on restart everthing is A!
