Quite unexpectedly, the taskbar started auto-hiding after I did that. I went to the Right hand task bar and clicked on the up arrow (show hidden icons) then went to customize and changed everthing But the Volume to only shownotification . Glad you caught that, cuz I want this solution to get out there at least a little, its annoying top Google searches are so bad.
