When I was able to connect I went through the PRAM and SMC reset and that didn't fix it. My imac has stopped responding to my wireless keyboard, but only in my account. You could try seeing if it can see any other Bluetooth devices (mobile phone perhaps?). Worked perfectly and solved my problem.
