Check the MagSafe connection on your Apple laptop for dust. The adapter does not power on or powers on intermittently when securely plugged into a known-good wall outlet. Resetting the SMC (System Management Controller) can help with battery and power related problems. If you find that a pin isn't resetting itself, gently press the pin sideways using a fingertip or other soft, non-scratching surface to see if the pin will reset itself.
