Can't understand weather it's a problem of postback or updatepanel. Here's a simplified version of what I'm working with. The problem is simple. Perkirtid's post above, it would seem that you could forego using the completion listelement id (i.e."CompletionListElementID") of the auto complete extender, and allow Ajax to auto create that element for you, useful reference
