If a compressor clutch on any vehicle has failed, the cause may be low voltage to the clutch. The hardest thing to do is the stupid thermostat.. Be sure to log it. I think they call them T20 T25 and so on. Could be the resistor pack is the culprit after all. The controller contains a fan primary relay, A/C fan control relay, and wide open throttle cutout all built into one unit. BTW, you have checked all the fuses? find more info
I have a strong feeling my radiator is clogged. So is the larger fan work in conjunction with the A/C Drivers side Or does the smaller fan work in conjunction with the A/C Passenger side? Loading... If everything is as Audi intended, there is no need for the extra duty fuse.
Something is causing these fans too draw way too much current. If the coil has no resistance, it is open and has failed. fan controller is a big problem in audi & vw but normally both will not turn on ..... Do these two fans share the same power wires? While your down there disconnect the fan wires from the wires that lead to the fan relay (under the battery). You maybe able to see some voltage on a DVOM, set to AC voltage, but that is only RMS voltage.
